KU's South Campus celebrates 9th International Day of Yoga

 Anantnag, June 21(KNS): South Campus of the University of Kashmir on Wednesday joined the International Yoga Day celebrations on the theme, 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', or 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.

The event was organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, South Campus, under the supervision of its Director, Prof Raies Ahmad Qadri.

The yoga session was held in the sports ground and was attended by faculty, officers, officials and students with great enthusiasm.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Raies Ahmad Qadri, spelt out the innumerable benefits of yoga on the body, mind and spiritual well-being of individuals.

Assistant Director, Physical Education, Tausif Bhat, briefed the participants in detail about the significance of International Day of Yoga and later demonstrated 15 yoga asanas, which were followed by participants with keen focus.(KNS).
