Terming the burning of Islamic flag and subsequent harassment of Muslims in Rajouri amid curfew a communal onslaught, the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) on Friday staged peaceful protests at historic Lal Chowk here asking the ruling coalition to refrain from pampering religious hatred.
The traders and other protesters, led by KTMF President Haji Mohammed Yasin Khan, after Friday prayers, took out a procession from Masjid Humza Koker Bazar that culminated at Lal Chowk where Khan addressed the people.
Khan who also heads the Kashmir Economic Alliance, said: “All what happened in Rajouri and the way deputy Chief Minister handled the developments seems to be part of some deep-rooted conspiracy of communal forces against Muslims.”
“It was just not expected from Dr Nirmal Singh who happens to be a well educated man to have brazenly stood by the communal forces like RSS when that too when no impartial probe was ordered into playing with the religious sentiments of Muslims,” Khan said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Asking the Muslims of Jammu province not to be afraid of such sinister designs, he said he and Muslims of Kashmir would support them till the last drop of their blood.
“History is testimony to the fact that Kashmiri Muslims believe in communal harmony and have always upheld it. But it doesn’t mean we will be mute spectators to conspiracies of the communal forces,” he said.
“For that matter let me make it clear to the communal forces and their well wishers in the government that if they don’t refrain from such evil activities, every peace loving Muslim of Kashmir will be forced to take to streets for a decisive battle,” Khan said.
Reiterating the strike call for Saturday to protest the Rajouri incidents, Khan said: “It should be a complete Kashmir Bandh in support for our Muslim brethren. This hartal is for the cause of our Deen, Islam.”
