Srinagar, Nov 24 (KNS): Kashmir Traders Manufacturing Federation (KTMF) on Thursday appealed the state government as well as J&K Bank chairman to waive off the Interest Services (IS) of the unrest months.
KTMF president, Bashir Ahmad Rather said that the J&K Bank must waive off the interest services of the uprising months.
He said that due to the prevailing situation in the valley, the traders failed to peruse their businesses thereby can’t afford to pay the interest services.
He said that keeping in view of the sufferings of Valley traders, government and J&K Bank must waive off IS services. “We hope that the government and Bank authorities will look into the sufferings of people and will announce the trader friendly decision shortly,” he said.
Meanwhile, president of Parimpora Trade Federation, Hilal Mandoo said that the government had imposed curfew in the Valley and thus simultaneously it was not possible to conduct the business.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Why are the bank officials compelling us to deposit interest services? Not only strikes, but our businesses got affected due to the curfew as well and it stands the responsibility of the government now to intervene into the matter and redress the genuine demands of traders,” he said.
He said that they must be given some time to earn so that they could be able to deposit the Interest Services. “We have not earned a single penny during the uprising months and how is it possible for us to deposit the interest services,” he said.
Mandoo who is also a senior member of KTMF said that Bank authorities should waive off the interest services till the situation in Kashmir won’t get normalized.
He said that in case government and J&K Bank authorities fail to fulfill their demands they will move to Supreme Court (SC) or High Court (HC) to seek justice in this regard. (KNS)
