KTMF, MSME Development Forum Sign MoU to Support Traders

Srinagar, May 03 (KNS): The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the MSME Development Forum to support traders and exporters in Jammu and Kashmir.

The agreement was signed during a meeting between KTMF Chairman Abrar Ahmed Khan, President Hilal Mandoo, and MSME DF Chairman Rajnish Goenka.

Officials said the MoU focuses on improving trade, exports, and access to finance for small businesses. It also aims to reduce transport and logistics costs and improve market access for local products.

Experts from different fields attended the meeting, including representatives from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the Islamic University of Science and Technology.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey discussed steps to connect industry with research and education.

During the discussion, it was noted that handicraft exports from Jammu and Kashmir have crossed Rs 1,000 crore. The participants said better planning and support can increase exports further.

The MoU also aims to improve access to credit for small units and strengthen coordination between industry, institutions, and other stakeholders.

Officials said the partnership will work on building a system to support local manufacturing and expand export opportunities in the region.(KNS)
