KTMF, Bank of Baroda joint delegation calls on CM Omar Abdullah

 Srinagar, May 4 (KNS) : A joint delegation of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) and Bank of Baroda on Monday called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, presenting a comprehensive roadmap for banking expansion and trade growth in the Union Territory.

 
The Bank of Baroda delegation was led by Executive Director Ms. Beena Vaheed, along with Chief General Manager Ms. K.V. Sheetal, General Manager Mr. Sabheak Singh, and Assistant General Manager Mr. Santosh Kumar. The KTMF team was headed by its President Mohammad Yaseen Khan, and included prominent members Qazi Tauseef and Vishal Malhotra.
 
During the meeting, Bank of Baroda outlined its expansion plans for J&K, including enhancing branch network, boosting credit flow to key sectors, and introducing customised banking services for local businesses. The KTMF delegation highlighted the need for accessible and responsive banking services, raising issues related to ease of credit, support for genuine borrowers, and strengthening financial inclusion. The federation stressed the importance of a proactive banking approach to address challenges faced by local businesses.
 
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah termed the joint initiative a constructive step toward aligning financial institutions with grassroots economic stakeholders. He assured full government support for the bank’s expansion plans and called for a robust banking network to ensure sustainable economic development in the UT.
 
The KTMF extended full business cooperation to Bank of Baroda, assuring active engagement from the trading community. The bank delegation expressed gratitude to the chief minister for his encouragement and to KTMF for its continued partnership. (KNS)
