Kreeri, May 9 (KNS) The Media Association Kreeri achieved a historic milestone on Saturday with the inauguration of the Press Club Kreeri at the Andrabi Complex here, an initiative aimed at providing a common platform for local journalists to address professional challenges and public grievances.
Journalists from the Kreeri-Wagoora area officially inaugurated the Press Club along with its office, marking a significant step towards unity and cooperation among working journalists in the region. The association said the club would help tackle issues faced by media persons in daily life and ensure ethical assistance to the general public on local problems.
On the occasion, MLA Kreeri-Wagoora, Irfan Hafeez Lone, along with former Law Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari, Naib Tehsildar Kreeri, SHO Kreeri, BMO Kreeri, BJP senior leader GM Sofi, President Traders Federation Kreeri, General Secretary Traders Association Kreeri, Provincial President JKTF Javid Ah Bhat, and JKTF President Tahir Sofi were among those present.

The officials assured full support to the association and appealed to journalists to uphold the true ethics of media while highlighting public concerns. The President of the Traders Federation Kreeri announced an on-the-spot cash award of Rs 11,000 for the maintenance of the office and promised continued support.
Addressing the gathering, President of Baramulla Working Journalists Association, Zargar Gulzar, expressed joy over the step taken by the Kreeri Media Association. General Secretary Umar Rashid also appreciated the initiative. SHO Kreeri, in his address, described journalism as the backbone of democracy and society.
The association reiterated its commitment to stand with journalists in all situations, assuring that working ethics would remain the primary motive for the betterment of the area and those in need. (KNS)
