Kralgund Hospital road in shambles, official cites encroachment

Kupwara, Sept 13 (KNS): The road leading to Kralgund Hospital in Langate area of Handwara is in shambles, thereby causing huge immense hardships to patients and common people.

Local residents told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that they were facing hardships owing to the dilapidated condition of the road, which connects them with the only hospital in the area.

They said that the road is dotted with potholes as the authorities have failed to macadamize it for the past two years. “Whenever it rains, the entire road stretch turns into a cesspool, making it out of bounds for the commuters,” said a local.

Meanwhile, locals alleged that encroachment by locals living along side of the road has led to the dilapidated condition of the road.

An official from R&B department told to Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the encroachment upon the road is the reason for waterlogging, however, they have written to the administration about the same, and they were waiting for orders to appropriate action to be taken against the encroachers. (KNS)
