The clarification came after the Kashmir News Service (KNS) reported that undergraduate aspirants in the valley had made a formal appeal to college authorities seeking an extension.

Notably, the university further said that notifications for admission to various Masters Programmes will be issued on June 1, 2026, and that no dates clash with Eid holidays.

Earlier in the day, Director of Colleges, Jammu and Kashmir, Prof. Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, told KNS that while dates had already been extended, a spot round of admissions may provide a second chance to candidates who missed earlier rounds or were not allotted a seat. (KNS)
