Srinagar, Mar 07(KNS): The Editor-in-Chief of Kashmir News Service, Mohammad Aslam Bhat, on Saturday expressed grief over the demise of veteran journalist Abdul Rashid Shah, describing his passing as a major loss to the media fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah, who was the Chief Editor and owner of Urdu Daily Nida-e-Mashriq, was widely respected in journalistic circles for his long service to the profession.
In a condolence message, Bhat said he was deeply saddened to learn about Shah’s demise and described him as a respected and dignified figure in the journalistic community who used his pen responsibly and served society with commitment.
“He always used his pen in the right direction and rendered his services fearlessly to journalism and society.

He said Shah remained committed to ethical journalism and earned respect across different sections of society for his work and public engagement.
Bhat also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and colleagues of the deceased journalist, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength to the family to bear the loss.
Shah’s death has been mourned by journalists and members of the media fraternity across the region, who remembered him as a senior journalist who contributed to the growth of Urdu journalism in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS).
