Srinagar, April 7 (KNS): Days after a court in Budgam banned the Valley’s dairy company, Khyber Agro Khyber Agro Farms, after its milk was found to be adulterated with detergent, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation will remove all the advertising hoardings of the company.
Srinagar Municipal Commissioner Bashir Ahmad Khan told KNS that he has ordered the removal of all advertising hoardings from the municipal limits of the city.
“When court has banned the products of Khyber Agro Khyber Agro Farms, I have asked the removal of all the hoardings within the municipal limits,” Khan told KNS.
The Judicial Magistrate in central Kashmir’s Budgam district held – Khyber Agro Farms Private Limited guilty of selling sub-stranded, mis-branded and unsafe milk and asked the Commissioner of Food Safety to shut the company operation or to take its products off the market.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The court fined the dairy company with Rs 9 lakh after the milk produced was found to be adulterated with detergent and blamed the company for the increased number of cancer patients in the Valley.
The Judicial Magistrate also sentenced the convicted company’s head of operations to six months imprisonment for violating various sections of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. (KNS)
