Handwara, Sept 02 (KNS): Locals of Kharpora Prungroo of north Kashmir’s Handwara on Wednesday appealed authorities to macadamize the link road that connects the area to district headquarter.
Talking to KNS, locals of the area expressed strong resentment over pathetic behavior of R&B Department who has failed to macadamize the Kharpora Prungroo link road.
They said though the adjoining roads have been macadamized earlier but the Kharpora Prungroo link road has been completely abandoned by authorities since decades, leaving local population to suffer badly.
“The link road connects the area to the district headquarter and other party of Valley but despite living in scientific era, the area has been deprived from basic facilities particularly roads which are in shambles”, locals said.
Locals of the area appealed district administration Kupwara and concern R&B Department to kindly look into and ensure walkable roads to local populace.
Executive Executive Engineer R&B Muzaffar Ahmad Khuroo while talking to KNS stated that the department lacks funding currently but the matter will be taken up with higher authorities.
However he said the matter will be resolved, hopefully, after deliberating with other senior officials. (KNS)
