Kashmiris Under Attack, MPs Silent: Mehbooba Mufti

SRINAGAR, FEB 03 (KNS) ;  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday launched a sharp political attack on the Members of Parliament from Jammu and Kashmir, accusing them of maintaining a “deafening silence” over alleged harassment of minorities and Kashmiris in various parts of the country.

In a social media post, the former Chief Minister as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) cited two recent incidents – the alleged brutal assault on a youth named Tabish in Uttarakhand and the reported harassment of an elderly Kashmiri – to question the role of the Union Territory’s representatives in Parliament.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“Where are the MPs of J&K who should be raising their voices as such attacks become routine?” Mehbooba questioned, targeting both the National Conference and the BJP, which have MPs from the region.

Mufti accused certain state governments of abandoning ‘Raj Dharma’ and providing “silent patronage to mob violence” for political gains. “Treating hatred as a shortcut to political success… The rule of law has been replaced by politics of fear,” she stated in her post. (KNS)
