During his continuous house arrest, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah in his message to organisers of Million March in New York said the initiative is a welcome step vis-à-vis finding a justifiable solution to Kashmir issue.
Expressing good wishes to organizers of the Million March which is scheduled to be held on October 25 this year, Shah said the Kashmiris residing in any part of the world are our ambassadors who "take every possible step to highlight the plight of their oppressed Kashmiri brethren.”He said international community should use their good offices to find a lasting solution to the long pending dispute of Kashmir and must exert pressure upon India to resolve the issue by fulfilling its promises with Kashmiris. Shah while hailing the efforts of former Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood, World Kashmir Awareness General Secretary Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai and other personalities with regard to highlighting the Kashmir cause globally said the solution to this issue remains in only settling it through peaceful means.
Expressing wish to look participate in the Million March, Shah said India through its 8 lakh forces has turned the whole Valley into a virtual jail where every voice raised in favour of Kashmir issue is choked and suppressed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said pro-India parties of Jammu and Kashmir do not represent the aspirations of the people and that they have no role in its resolution which lies within UN resolutions or through tripartite dialogue.
DFP Chairman severely criticized pro-India politicians and parties for imposing restrictions on freedom of speech and expression and violating the basic human rights here. He appealed everyone including Freedom Party members across the world to participate in Million March and make the program successful.
Shabir Ahmad Shah also expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to shelling on LoC and said such skirmishes only add to the mutual conflicts. The main reason behind Indo-Pak rivalry is Kashmir issue and till it gets resolved the conflict will continue.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation led by party general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari today visited the residence of Hurriyat leader Musadiq Adil to express condolences with him on sad demise of his brother. The delegation also included Muhammad Amin and Molvi Bashir Ahmad. They prayed for heavenly abode of the deceased. (KNS)
