Kashmiri Teen's Digital Mission: Championing Mother Tongue in Online Space

Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNS): A 15-year-old from South Kashmir is on a digital mission to reclaim online space for the Kashmiri language, leveraging content creation to preserve cultural identity and inspire the youth.

Faisal Ayoub Bhat, a Class 10 student from Irote Damjan in Anantnag, began his journey in 2020 with gaming videos. After years of experimentation across comedy, vlogs, and managing over 15 channels, he relaunched his efforts in August 2025 with a clear focus.

His new venture stands out for its exclusive use of the Kashmiri language, a conscious choice to address a significant digital gap.

"The Kashmiri language is not just a language but an identity.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelKasher zabaan che saanie pehchaan (The Kashmiri language is our identity)," Bhat told News Agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) stressing the urgent need to promote the mother tongue in meaningful digital formats.

With few creators producing substantial Kashmiri-language content, Bhat aims to fill this void and provide the language and culture a robust online presence.

His vision is to encourage Kashmiri youth to express themselves digitally while staying deeply connected to their roots, fostering pride in their linguistic and cultural heritage. (KNS)
