Srinagar, May 31: Concerned about the continuous house arrest of the veteran resistance leader of Jammu Kashmir and chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah, the heads of Kashmiri pro-freedom organisations and representatives of the British Kashmiri diaspora on Tuesday organised a meeting at Birmingham, UK.
Among those who participated in the meeting include: Dr Misfar Hassan (President Jammu Kashmir Liberation League), Abdul Jabbar Bhat (Founder President JKLF, UK), Sabir Gul (President JKLF UK), Ershad Malik (Democratic Freedom Party representative), Javid Iqbal Kakroo (Secretary general Kashmir Art & Cultural Association), Rana Shama Nazir (Chairperson British Kashmiri Women’s Council), Inam-ul-Haq (President JK People’s National Party), Bashir Ratvi (President JK Muslim Conference), Barrister Ashraf (Secretary general JK Liberation League), Professor Zaffar Khan (Chairman Foreign Affairs & Human Rights JKLF), Tehseen (Secretary general JKLF, UK), Najeeb Afsar (Chairman Kashmir Liberation Council), Professor Liaqat (), Professor Azmat Khan, M Lateef Sani (JK Liberation League), Munsif Dad Mirza (JK Liberation League), M Amin Sani, Abid Khan, and others.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The leaders had come from various cities of the United Kingdom like London, Nottingham, Manchester, Wolverthampton, Luton, Burnley, and Watford.
During the meeting, a memorandum was drafted which was later on sent to all human rights organisations/ heads of political parties of the UK, European Union, and chairman of All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir in Britain.
At the end, the Democratic Freedom Party representative Ershad Malik thanked the participants. (KNS)
