Kashmir’s Pride Capt. Kapil Raina Upgraded to Airbus A-350 for Ultra Long-Haul Operations

 Srinagar, May 07 (KNS): In a moment of pride for Jammu & Kashmir, senior Air India pilot Capt. Kapil Raina has been upgraded to operate the latest state-of-the-art Airbus A-350 aircraft for ultra long-haul international flights after successfully completing advanced training at Airbus, Singapore.

 
Hailing from the Karan Nagar area of Srinagar, Capt. Raina belongs to a well-known business family of Kashmir. His late father, J.L. Raina, was among the first renowned transporters of the Valley and was associated with Bharat Transport Company.
 
With an illustrious aviation career spanning decades, Capt. Raina has held several key management positions in Air India and also served as the President of the Indian Commercial Pilot Association. He is widely respected in the aviation fraternity as an Instructor and Examiner on Airbus aircraft and has logged more than 29,000 flying hours during his distinguished career.

He was particularly known for operating challenging Leh sector flights with great professionalism.
 
Adding another feather to the family’s achievements, his daughter Capt. Tanvi Raina became the first and youngest commercial pilot from Kashmir at the age of 18. His other daughter is a doctor, making the family a source of inspiration for many young Kashmiris.
 
Capt. Raina is also credited with playing an instrumental role in initiating helicopter flight connectivity for the Sonamarg area, contributing significantly to regional air transport services.
 
His latest achievement has been widely hailed as a matter of pride for the people of Kashmir and the aviation community alike. (KNS)
