Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS): Terming the resolution of Kashmir dispute as key to peace, senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan today said that Kashmir is surrounded by three nuclear powers which can escalate the situation any time if concrete and practical steps to resolve the long pending dispute are not taken. “As Kashmir is surrounded by three nuclear powers, India should leave its obduracy and jingoism and should take serious and concrete steps towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said in a statement issued to KNS.
He added “we have seen three wars between India and Pakistan and faced the brunt and devastation the clouds of another war are seen clearly on the skies of south Asia so this is high time for world powers to intervene and stop New Delhi from its jingoistic approach.” Instead of war mongering, jingoism and rhetoric, India should behave as a responsible democracy and a responsible nuclear power, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said.
“Kashmir is not Gujarat, UP or Bihar, it is an internationally recognised dispute and it stands on a volcano, any misadventure on part of India can create devastation in the whole south Asian region,” he added.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that resolution of long standing Kashmir dispute is imperative for south Asian peace. It’s resolution can guarantee a prosperous, peaceful life to the impoverished people of this region.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Modi should understand he cannot fight poverty in his country without resolving Kashmir dispute,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said adding more than 50% of people in India are living below poverty line, 60% are still defecate outside in open, crores of people in India are without shelter, without pure drinking water, crores of rupees are spent on protecting inhabitated areas so if Modi is serious in fighting poverty out of his country he should accept the disputed nature of Kashmir and take concrete steps to resolve it. “This can save India as well as the whole region from more devastation,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said adding “otherwise destruction of the region is inevitable.”
Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that instead of building defence capability India should fight poverty and Kashmir resolution can help in that direction. He further said that India should rein in its war mongering and biased media and prepare public opinion. “While doing so India should accept bitter reality about Kashmir dispute and read writing on the wall that road leads to peace and prosperity in south Asia through Kashmir resolution,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan also condemned the arrest of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), co- Chairman, Farooq Ahmad Dar and hundreds of other innocent people in nook and corner of Kashmir, Chinab valley and Pir Panchal region. (KNS)
