Srinagar, Feb 27 (KNS): The Kashmir Valley is observing complete shutdown on the call of separatist groups against the arrest of Jawaharlal Nehru University some students and former Delhi University Professor SAR Geelani.
Shops, business units and educational institutes have been shut, while public transport is off the roads. However, private vehicles and cabs are moving in the Srinagar city and district headquarters.
Government offices are seeing a thin attendance of the employees as they could not reach their office due to non-availability of public transport.

Reports from district headquarters reaching KNS say that the shutdown is being observed in the towns, with very few private vehicles plying on roads.
An administrative official in Srinagar told KNS that no restrictions have been imposed in any part of the valley.
The shutdown has been called by all the separatist groups to protests the harassment and questioning of some Kashmiri students studying in New Delhi and booking of former Professor of Delhi University S A R Geelani for sedition following attending a cultural event in Jawaharlal University on the third hanging anniversary of Afzal Guru.
