Jammu, Apr 17 (KNS): Congress will do everything possible for the safe, secure and dignified return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Migrants.
This was stated by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President and Party Candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency G.A. Mir and has said that Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits.
Addressing the meeting of Kashmiri Migrants at Muthi in Jammu, G.A. Mir said that the ultimate goal is to create a congenial atmosphere in the Kashmir valley for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Migants in an atmosphere of peace, harmony and sense of security for them. Till that goal is achieved It is essential that all further necessary measure are required to be taken for their dignified living and to secure the future of the youth of this community, who have undergone numerous hardships, sufferings and disadvantages of life especially the youth after getting uprooted from the native place.
The interaction with Kashmir Migrants was organized by Kashmir Migrant Cell of JKPCC led by Hiralal Pandita.
Mir said that the exit of this community from the valley under the fear of gun in view of the security situation is very painful chapter of history, which brought lot of sufferings and havoc for the members of this community and in no way can be compensated. He said that Kashmiri migrant’s children had to struggle a lot for their livelihood and sustainable life, however Congress Party while in Govt took several initiatives for extending different sorts of relief and rehabilitation measures from time to time. He referred to the initiatives taken by the UPA I & UPAII and said that facilities for their stay in Jammu as well as transit accommodation were created at various places in valley, besides job opportunities were created for the youth of this community, around 3000 have joined Gov Sector in the valley, G.A. Mir said.
However, Mir regretted that BJP which claimed to be champion of their cause failed to take and carry forward Congress initiatives for them or implement any result oriented package for their welfare and rehabilitation, all these commitment have remained unfulfilled slogans for vote bank politics in whole of the country by exploiting the atmosphere of sympathy and sentiments of the country men towards the sufferings of the Kashmir Migrants.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Mir assured the Kashmiri Migrants that Congress has always sincerely drafted and executed the schemes and various welfare measures for them as the Party always felt that they deserved all these and even lot in view of their sufferings and pain being out of their homes. He also referred to their great contribution to the Kashmiri society especially in the field of education and knowledge for which they enjoy lot of respect and space in the minds and heart of every right thinking person in Kashmiri society.
Mir regretted that atmosphere of peace, harmony and security was a great casualty during BJP regime at centre and the previous coalition Govt in the State the situation on all fronts worsened a lot and it remains challenge for any future dispensation at the Centre and State to bring it back on the rails, restore normalcy and create a better atmosphere of peace and harmony for their safe, dignified living of people in Kashmir.
He said hat Congress is capable and experienced to deal with the situation in the valley and create appropriate atmosphere of peace and harmony in the State.
He appealed to migrant voters to use their influence and prevail upon all the electorate to give him (G.A. Mir) a chance to serve the and strengthen Congress party from the State to Centre for the better future of the youth in an atmosphere of amity and diversity.
