Kupwara, Jan 07 (KNS): Karnah Civil Society on Friday held a meeting to discuss several issues including non-availability of anaesthetist, paediatrician and general physician at sub-district hospital Tanghdar and non-availability of doctor and para-medical staff at various PHCs ans other health centres of the area. 

The meeting was presided over by chairman Karnah Civil Society, Peerzada Siraj ud din Qureshi. 

KCS general secretary, Dr Aijaz said that he visited sub-district hospital Karnah to have first hand account of the problems being faced by the people in the absence of specialist doctors.

He said that hospital is named as sub district hospital but unfortunately facilities available are less than a PHC as only 7 doctors are working day and night including the BMO. 

Meanwhile, KCS has also written a letter to director health services Kashmir, divisional commissioner Kashmir, DC Kupwara and CMO Kupwara about the issues being faced by the people of Karnah in the absence of specialist doctors at SDH Tanghdar and lack of doctors and para-medical staff at various PHCs and other allied health centres of the area. 

Chairman KCS, Pirzada Siraj-ud-Din Qureshi said that the society is working selflessly for the betterment of the people of Karnah and has raised the issues before the concerned authorities from time to time. (KNS)
