Srinagar, August 21 (KNS): Addressing a mammoth gathering of Mourners at Shahtulipora (Bandipora) today President All J&K Shia Association Molvi Imran Reza Ansari has said that the first universal lesson that Karbala teaches us is to never support injustice and oppression no matter how powerful the oppressor might be.

He said that no matter what incentive, what threat you may be given, never support falsehood and tyranny. Karbala shows the distinction between good and evil. Truth is always on the side of the oppressed, never the oppressor, Molvi added.

Molvi Imran Reza said that there are many lessons to be learnt from Karbala.Like standing up for what is right is important, even if you have to face death with certainty. It is important for the greater good. This is the only way to defeat injustice.  Don't be selective when speaking up against tyranny. It does not matter if the oppressed person is not related to you. Be kind, even to your enemies. Harat Hur (as) was the General of the enemy army. He and his group of soldiers had run out of water while on their way to intercept Imam Hussain (as). Imam Hussain (as) served them with water despite his limited stock. Be patient. the overall goal is more important than your personal feelings. Hazrat Abbas (as), the brave son of Imam Ali (as) and the younger brother of Imam Hussain (as), was a famous warrior of his time. He drove fear into the very souls of his enemies. Yet, he kept quiet in the face of many provocations as commanded by his elder brother, Imam Hussain (as). Be brave even when you have lost everything. Bibi Zainab (sa), the brave daughter of Imam Ali (as) and the sister of Imam Hussain (as), was taken as a prisoner after seeing her family being massacred - her loving brothers, her nephews, and her own two sons. All were killed in one day, yet, she didn't lose focus of the goal of her brother. Tied up in ropes, she fearlessly spoke against the tyrant ruler right in Yazeed’s courtyard.(KNS)
