Beerwah Aug 9 (KNS): A full-day religious programme comprising Marsiya, Majlis-e-Aza, and a mourning procession was held at Nussu in Beerwah on Sunday to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and the message of Karbala.
The event was organised by the All Jammu & Kashmir Shia Association and witnessed participation from a large number of devotees from the region.
Addressing the gathering, Association President Molvi Imran Reza Ansari gave a detailed account of the historical events leading to the battle of Karbala and the role of the Bani Umayyah dynasty. He underscored the ideological conflict between truth and oppression that culminated in the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
Ansari specifically highlighted the role of Bibi Zainab (SA) in preserving the Prophet's lineage and propagating the sacrifice of Karbala to posterity.

The gathering also offered special prayers for peace and stability in Iran and Palestine. Prayers were held for the victims of the recent conflict in Iran, with participants calling for justice and the protection of civilian lives.
The programme concluded with a mourning procession, during which devotees paid floral tributes and reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of truth, justice, and resistance against tyranny, as espoused by Imam Hussain (AS). (KNS)
