Bandipora, April 05 (KNS) : The Kaloosa–Gurdal stretch in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has deteriorated into a dangerously dilapidated condition, triggering widespread concern among residents and daily commuters.
 
The road, which serves as a crucial lifeline connecting several areas including Kaloosa, Quilmuqam, Onagam, Turkpora, Mangnipora, and adjoining villages, is presently riddled with deep potholes, broken patches, and uneven surfaces. The worsening condition has not only prolonged travel time but also exposed commuters to serious safety risks.
 
Locals said that the damaged stretch has become a daily ordeal, with frequent incidents of vehicle breakdowns and mounting repair costs. “The road is in a pathetic state. It has become difficult to commute, especially during emergencies,” said a resident.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
Students, patients, employees, and transporters are among the most severely affected, facing immense hardships while navigating the unsafe roadss. Many residents expressed resentment over the alleged neglect by the concerned authorities, stating that no significant repair or maintenance work has been undertaken for a long time.
 
Residents have urged the district administration to take immediate cognisance of the issue and initiate urgent repair and macadamization work to restore the road’s condition and ensure smooth and safe transportation.
 
They warned that continued inaction could further worsen the situation, leading to greater inconvenience and potential accidents, and called for prompt intervention without any further delay. (KNS)
