Srinagar, Apr 01 (KNS): The woman from Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday alleged molestation by the Rural Development Department (RDD) official in the Kalaroos block.
However, she said that accused is roaming free as no action has been taken against him.
According to KNS correspondent, Fayaz Hameed, the women hailing from Thayen Kalaroosa area of Lolab, alleged that the official of RDD at Kalaroosa block molested her after she went to the block for some work related to compensation.
“I went to the RDD block Kalaroosa on March 20 for some work related to compensation but the official present there abused me and molested me,” she said, adding that she however successfully managed to run from the spot.
She said that they subsequently went to the court for justice in this regard following which the court directed the police to lodge an FIR against the accused.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to KNS correspondent, an FIR under no 16/2017 under section 354, 506 RPC has been registered.
“I went to the officials in this regard but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard,” she added.
The victim said that she is being forced to withdraw the case. “I am being forced to withdraw my case but now I don’t want any compensation. The accused must be booked and dealt with strictly,” she demanded.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Kupwara, Shamsher Hussain told KNS that he will talk to the Station House Officer (SHO) in this regard to investigate the matter. (KNS)
