Srinagar, Feb 22 (KNS): DDC Member Khimber on Wednesday has extended his unwavering support for Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu's recent stance against the imposition of property tax in the region.
Ganai in his press statement commended Mayor's stance for his considerate and caring approach towards the welfare of the people of Srinagar.
"Junaid Sahibs empathetic understanding of the challenges faced by the people of Srinagar is truly commendable. He recognizes the struggles and hardships of those who are already burdened with numerous problems and are not in a position to pay additional property taxes," he said.
He stated, "Junaid sahib has always prioritised the welfare of people and understands their hardships. His concern for the people of Srinagar is truly praiseworthy, and we stand with him in opposing the imposition of property tax."
Ganie said the people of J&K have faced the wrath of COVID-19 pandemic due to which economic activities are witnessing a huge downturn.
"In such difficult times, the imposition of property tax would only add to their burdens. The Govt. must reconsider the imposition of property tax and instead focus on measures that can truly benefit the people besides working towards their upliftment and prosperity," he remarked.(KNS)
