Srinagar, Mar 15 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Friday slammed the authorities over worsening power scenario and inordinate delay in implementing the vital power reforms in the state.
Kadfeen said that Jammu and Kashmir could perhaps be the only state in entire India wherein the directions of the Governor are not only ignored but rejected without remorse by the government departments.
He said that Advisor to Governor, Mr Kewal Kumar Sharma on December 30, last year had stated that the improvements in state’s power scenario are expected after the commissioning of the grid station. He, said Kadfeen, had also discussed the test charging of Alasteng Grid Station and directed the concerned officials to do it by first week of January.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The government spokesman had then stated that Sharma reprimanded the contractor agency for its failure to complete the line in time and directed the Chief Engineer Systems and Operations to initiate action in the matter. However, at present, there is no forward movement with common people bearing the brunt of such ruthless way of functioning,” said Kadfeen, adding that the state authorities should have prioritized the efforts to address the power woes in Kashmir valley and that it was ironic to find how those at the helm are only giving damn to the insurmountable predicament people have to witness due to the erratic power supplies.
