Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Chaudhary on Friday urged upon the government to ensure adequate arrangements are put in place for the residents of the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir at the present time when there are simmering tensions between the two countries being witnessed.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kadfeen said that the border dwellers already living under the sordid and squalid conditions have been bearing the brunt of hostilities between the two countries for decades and every time there is a warlike situation on LOC and on borders, these poor residents become the first victims.
He demanded adequate arrangements in government safe houses for the people living in border towns across the state and said that special attention needs to be paid to woman, children and to patients at the present time.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The administration must ensure that there is enough stock of essentials available in the border towns and residents have been provided with all items needed in case of emergency,” Kadfeen said.
The Congress leader said that in the past there have been several casualties of civilians due to tensions on the borders and now when people have been asked to remain alert and ready themselves for being shifted to safer places, the government is duty bound to pay special attention to the relocated families, cater to their needs and ensure they are put in safer places.
