Reiterating his demand to resolve the lingering issue of Kashmir at earliest, the senior resistance leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah Tuesday said the move (resolution) is much in interest of India and Pakistan.
"The secret of success, progress and prosperity of both India and Pakistan is shrouded in the resolution of Kashmir Issue which severely hampers and jeopardizes the development of both the nations," Shah, said in a statement to KNS.
“One of the oldest disputes of the world - the Kashmir Dispute - has plunged the two neighbouring countries of South Asia into utmost poverty as both nations have been in race of putting down each other in defense procurement and major portion of state budget gets spent on this sector. The mutual rivalry between India and Pakistan only intensifies with each passing day due to simmering of this dispute. Not only this, even the Kashmiri youth are subjected to trauma due to its lingering,” he said.
Elaborating, Shah said the people of Kashmir, from last 68 years, have rendered limitless and unflinching sacrifices in their fight for birth right of self-determination from forcible occupation of India “which the latter has been crushing and uppressing through violent, inhuman means and military might.”
“It is unfortunate that the political leadership of the so-called world's largest democracy is misleading its people vis-a-vis Kashmir issue by resorting to bias and prejudice but there is an intellectual class which realizes that leaders by doing so are pushing the subcontinent to brink of war," Shah maintained.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

We're always with our people and will not leave them alone in any hour of grief," he said.In this connection, a Freedom Party delegation led by Bashir Ahmad Wani today visited Redwani, Kulgam and expressed solidarity and sympathy with victims of police action.
Meanwhile, the party spokesperson while strongly reacting against the authorities for keeping Shah under continuous house arrest said the latter's residence has been turned into a jail “where police is keeping vigil for 24 hours.”
“This is nothing but a martial law imposed by state administration," the spokesperson added.
