Srinagar, Dec 19 (KNS): Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Tuesday called for a complete shutdown on Wednesday to protest against the killing of three civilians in firing by government forces.
In a statement issue to KNS, JRL comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik appealed peole o observe complete shutdown on Dec 20 (Friday) to protest against these killings that occurred at different places in this week.
Misra Bano was killed during an encounter between militants and government forces in Unisoon village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara on Dec 11. Police had said that the woman was killed in cross-fire after she tried to escape from the house where three militants were trapped.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Asif Iqbal a cab driver was killed in alleged army firing in Thandipora village of Kupwara on Saturday night. However, an army spokesman claimed that the driver was killed in "cross-fire" between militants and army.
Beauty Jan (24) was killed after being hit by a bullet fired by government forces to disperse protesters near the site of gunfight in Shopian today.
The JRL as per the statement issued to KNS said that the people of Kashmir won’t act as mute spectator over these killings. (KNS)
