Demands regularization of Sub District Hospital Khaltsi, Nyoma

Srinagar, June 06 (KNS): While speaking on the demand for grant on Health and Medical Education Department, Congress Legislature Party Leader Rigzin Jora said that the state is doing reasonably well on all the health indicators compared to the national average. The reason Jora said was the liberal funding under NRHM by the former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. The infant mortality rate, fertility rate and maternal mortality rate have been reduced considerably because of funding under NRHM. Jora , however, showed serious concerned about the sex ratio of the state which is alarming and urge the Minister to keep a strict eye on those indulging in foeticide.
Speaking about problems of his constituency Jora pointed out that the Parliament passed a legislation giving recognition to Sowa Rigpa system of medicine which is the traditional system of medicine of Ladakh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Arunachal Pradesh.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe state govt must bring legislation in this session to ratify the parliament act. This must followed by converting all the ISM Centre in Leh to Sowa Rigpa Centre.
Jora also demanded the regularization of Sub District Hospital of Khaltsi and Nyoma both of which are functional through internal arrangement. Jora informed that all the physical infrastructure stand completed.
Jora also demanded that newly opened Primary Health Center - 11 of them in Leh district - are not functioning. They must be made functional on immediate priority.
Jora informed that the District Hospital Leh does not have a dialysis machine as well as MRI.
Jora demanded that a large number of posts of doctors are lying vacant. These must be filled up on priority. (KNS)
