KULGAM, Feb 24 (KNS) : In a decisive move to clear state land and protect vital water infrastructure, a joint anti-encroachment drive was carried out in the Mohammad Pora area of Kulgam district on Tuesday.
Acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, a coordinated team comprising the Irrigation Department, Revenue Department, and Kulgam Police launched the operation to remove illegal occupations.
Officials stated that the drive was specifically aimed at demolishing unauthorized structures that had been illegally erected on government land and along irrigation channels. These encroachments were reportedly obstructing the smooth flow of water, adversely affecting agricultural operations in the area.
The operation was supervised by Tehsildar Kulgam, Nasir Ahmad Wani, and Naib Tehsildar Basloo, Ashiq Hussain.
