JKWRRA holds first multidisciplinary meet for coordinated actions in water sector

 

Jammu, December 3 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority today held its first multidisciplinary meeting to improve the coordination for taking effective actions for restoration of water sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was chaired by JKWRRA chairman Ghanshyam Jha.

According to statement issued to KNS reads, Jha threw light on the technical issues and discussed the possibility of saving springs, judicious water distribution flood forecasting and irrigation.

He said that and result oriented work has been initiated to strength the JK Water Resources sector.

Besides the Engineers of JKWRRA Mr. T. R. Sharma KAS Secretary JKWRRA, Er. Manesh Bhat, Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, Er. Hamesh Manchanda, Chief Engineer I&FC & RTIC Jammu, Director (M&A), Dr. Ravi Ranjan, Central Water Commission Jammu, HOD,Civil Engineering IIT Jammu Dr. Sameer Sarma, Proffessors of Department of Environmental Sciences, Jammu University,Dr Raj Kumar Rampal and Dr Deepi Kasentia Scientist Incharge,NIH WRMC Dr JOSE Deputy Director CWC Mr Rakesh Gupta and Parvaiz Ahmad and Vidya nand Negi Officers Incharge in J&K for Central Ground Water Board attended the meeting

Welcoming the experts, AEE JKWRRA Er Muzammil Ahmad said the authority has a meaningful agenda of working in close coordination to explore best possible solutions to the issues ofJK water resources sector.

All the participant dignitaries expressed interest to work water resources sector as a coordinated team for meaningful results(KNS)
