Srinagar, June 28 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum Tuesday staged sit-in here in press enclave against the government for failing to provide them salaries from past four months.
Protesters assembled here and raised anti-government slogans. They were demanding their wages, which are withheld from past four months.
The protestors told KNS that their salaries are withheld from past four months due to which they are facing immense hardships.
“I am sole bread earner of my family and the government by not releasing our wages put miseries in our lives. Despite working with dedication, the government is not releasing our salaries on time thereby leaving us to lurch at large,” Muhammad Tahir, a protester said.
Mohammad Yaqoob, district president teacher’s forum said, “Despite educating the students across the Valley, the government is showing callous attitude towards us.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAs being a teacher we should have been given a status but unfortunately, the successive regimes always forced the teachers to take streets.”
He said that their demands should be fulfilled forthwith. “We will come on roads if our demands will not be fulfilled,” he said.
Meanwhile, protestors were opposing the screening test of teachers. They said that those having fake certificates should be removed from the department.
Farooq Ahmad Tantry, Chairman JKReTTF said, “Government is forcing us to come on streets by providing one month of salary after four months. I appeal the government to provide our wages at the end of every month,” he said.
However, the protesters dispersed peaceful. (KNS)
