Srinagar, Apr 09 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) leader Syed Iqbal Tahir today visited the residence of truck driver Yawar Ahmed Malik of Melhoora, Bijbehara who was allegedly dragged out of his vehicle on 6th of this month at Batengoo Anantnag.
Yawar was allegedly dragged by army early morning and was severely thrashed before fleeing from the spot. He has severe bruises on his face and body. Besides his vehicle was also damaged.
JKPM leader was informed by Yawar's family that despite protests by the locals and multiple requests from Yawar’s family, no investigation has been ordered by the concerned authorities into this matter.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
JKPM leader expressed his sympathies with the family and condemned the violation of human rights. Later on he met Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and demanded an investigation for the incident, so that justice is done in this case. He also demanded that the victim must be provided adequate compensation as permitted under law. (KNS)
