JKPM demands opening up of Hospital at Rampura Anantnag

Anantnag, Dec 30 (KNS): J&K Peoples Movement had demanded the opening up of the 10-bedded hospital in Karewa Rampura area of Anantnag.

In a statement issued to KNS, JKPM Vice president Solicitor Syed Iqbal Tahir has said that while the construction of the hospital in Rampura has been completed, yet the government is delaying the opening up of the hospital for unknown reasons.

He said that the hospital is expected to cater to a large population of the Karewa area including people from Rampura, Kehribhal, Rambirpora, Gopalpora and Wantrag.

Iqbal Tahir further said that due to lack of adequate health services, people of this area have to travel to Mattan or District Hospital Anantnag which can be highly inconvenient to the elderly and women folk especially during bad weather conditions and winter months.

He urged the LG Administration to immediately open up the hospital for the general public. He also demanded the setting up of similar hospitals in other areas of Anantnag. (KNS)
