The deceased was the uncle of I/C DCC President Pulwama Umer Jaan.

In a condolence message, JKPCC President Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Vice President Haji Ab. Rashid Dar, Srinagar DCC President Abdul Gani Khan and other senior party leaders have expressed profound grief over the passing away of Mohd Anwar Rangrez and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved family.
