Srinagar, Dec 30 (KNS): Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik wasFriday arrested at Pulwama when he was leading a protest rally towards the main Chowk Pulwama.
In a statement issued to KNS, The party said that JKLF chairman who reached Pulwama town early morning today offered morning prayers at Jamia Masjid Pulwama.
According to KNS Malik had gone in hiding last evening to evade police arrest and barricades.
“Malik stayed inside Jamia and after Friday prayers led a peaceful protest against issuing domicile certificates to West Pakistan refugees, recent Indian Supreme Court orders regarding the status of Jammu Kashmir and plight of inmates languishing in various jails,” said the JKLF.
The protest was organized as per the program issued by united resistance leadership and despite police restrictions and siege, people from all walks of life in large numbers raising slogans in favor of freedom, martyrs, inmates and unity and against oppression unleashed by police and forces, conspiratorial plots to change demography of Jammu Kashmir and Indian occupation joined it with enthusiasm and passion.
JKLF claimed that Malik along with many others sustained injuries by the use of force and even “all his clothes were torn to pieces by the agents of oppression”.
Addressing the gathering, Malik said the Indian rulers with the help of their “Kashmiri stooges” wanted to turn Jammu and Kashmir into another Palestine by changing its demography and domicile certificates to West Pakistan refugees and recent Supreme Court verdicts all part of this Indian conspiratorial plot.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that as a nation they need to remain vigilant and ready to resist these plots as these a matter of life and death for us.
Terming the issuing of domicile certificates to West Pakistan Refugees, Supreme Court orders regarding the quasi-sovereign status of Jammu and Kashmir and permitting outside banks to confiscate and hold properties as old ploy of RSS mindset and a classic example of shameful hypocritical politics of pro-India politicians of Jammu Kashmir especially that of PDP, he said these politicians and parties lure people by enticing slogans, take votes and after coming to power or becoming a part of so-called assembly and Indian parliament serve and safeguard interests of India.
Meanwhile, JKLF leaders and activists staged a peaceful sit-in at Abi-Guzar here against the “conspiratorial plots” to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir and also against the plight of inmates.
The JKLF leaders Mir Siraj Ud din Davood, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Ashraf Bin Salam and Muhammad Amin Magloo etc participated in the protest. The Chairman Islamic students league (F) Firdous Ahmad Shah also participated in the peaceful sit-in and addressed the participants.
The JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt along with district president Bandipora Syed Nisar Jeelani visited Asham Sonawari and addressed people there. (KNS)
