Srinagar, Feb 03 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday staged protest against the death penalty to a Kashmiri youth by a Bengal court in the previous month.
The JKLF leaders while holding the placards were chanting slogans against the government and in favor of ‘Azadi’.
The protesting leaders said that the protest has been organized by the leadership. “We are on streets against to the protest against the atrocities being committed on Kashmiris.”
They said that death penalty to a Kashmiri youth; Muzaffar Ahmad Rather by a Bengal court is unfortunate. “The death sentence to a Rather on the basis of doubts is condemnable,” they said.
The leaders said that thousands of Kashmiris have been killed by the Indian forces so far. “Kashmiris have witnessed several massacres at various including Gow Kadal, Bijehara and others.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir won’t go waste at any cost and has to bear a fruit,” the protesting leaders said.
They demanded that the prisoners languishing in different jails across the Valley must be released at earliest. “The prisoners are facing tremendous hardships and must be released as the health conditions of most of the prisoners are deteriorating with each passing day,” they added.
Saying that the long pending Kashmir issue must be resolved at earliest, the protesters said, “We (Kashmiris) have been fighting for the demands of Right to Self-determination from past several decades but unfortunately, the Kashmiris are being targeted for seeking their rights. The long pending issue must be resolved at earliest.” (KNS)
