Expresses condolence with Nayeem, Bhat

Srinagar, Jun 09 (KNS): Vice chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt on Thursday said that Youth icon and symbol of Kashmiri resistance ‘Shaheed I Kashmir’ Ishfaq Majeed Wani was a great leader who strived for the freedom of this nation and sacrificed himself for the righteous cause.
In a statement issued to KNS, Butt while addressing a meeting held at JKLF headquarters on the martyrdom day of Ishfaq Majeed Wani, who embraced martyrdom on 3rd day of Ramadhan in 1990said, “This nation can never forget the struggle and services of this great soul. Sarwar advocate represented resistance in Poonch; his sacrifices can never be forgotten.”
The meeting was attended by all JKLF leaders and prominent activists of JKLF.
Butt said that Ishfaq Majeed embraced martyrdom on third day of Ramadan as per his wish that he himself wrote in his dairy “I wish it is holy month of Ramadhan and I am fasting and embrace martyrdom while fasting”.
While remembering the great martyr, Butt said that Ishfaq Majeed Wani was a born leader, a humble slave of Allah almighty who whenever took a step strived in the way of truth and justice. “He was a symbol of Courage, Fearlessness, religiousness, passion, and resistance against the False and injustice,” he said.
He said that it was Ishfaq Majeed Wani’s gallant leadership in 1988 that gave courage to hundreds of young men to stand up for the cause of freedom and independence of mother land. “Ishfaq Majid Wani led a people’s revolution in 1990 and changed the 5000 year old history of Kashmir. It was his leadership that united a nation which was tagged as coward and inactive for the just cause of freedom and history bears a witness that thousands of young people followed Ishfaq Majeed Wani in this struggle,” Butt said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Butt said that Ishfaq Majeed was a practicing follower of Quran, a brave commander, a wise political leader, a refined diplomat, a fiery speaker, a respected student and a great athlete.
He said that he was a true picture of great predecessors and follower of father of nation Mohammad Maqbool Bhat Shaheed.
While paying tributes to another JKLF stalwart from district Poonch Jammu, Advocate Syed Sarwar who died on 8th June 2001, in an accident, JKLF vice chairman said that Sarwar sahib was a symbol of resistance in Poonch.
“He for his whole life strived for freedom of Jammu Kashmir and tolerated Jails, tortures, humiliations and other oppressive measures at the hands of India and its stooges,” Butt said, adding that despite all oppressive measures against him, Sarwar never budged before the tyrants and till his last breath remained steadfast with freedom movement.
Butt prayed for the heavenly abode of late Sarwar sahib.
Meanwhile JKLF has paid rich tributes to father of APHC (G) leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan Ghlulam Muhammad Khan and brother of APHC (M) leader professor Abdul Gani Jenab Muhammad Dilawar Butt who breathed their last day before.
A JKLF delegation comprising of JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt, Deputy Central Organizer Siraj ud Din Mir, Deputy Zonal president Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Zonal General Secretary sheikh Abdul Rashid, District presidents Abdul Rashid Magloo and Syed Nisar Jeelani, Muhammad Azeem Zargar and Molvi Reyaz visited both the bereaved families and expressed condolences to them.
