Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik has paid rich tributes to his friend and JKLF founder leader Shaheed-i-Hurriyat Sheikh Abdul Hamid and others including Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmad lone, Shaheed Advocate Jamil Chowdry, Shaheed Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmad Kuttay, Shaheed Mustaq Ahmad khan and Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad who embraced martyrdom at Aali kadal Srinagar on 19th Nov 1992.
In a statement issued to KNS, JKLF spokesman said that Yasin also paid rich tributes to Ghulam Nabi Butt (elder brother of Shaheed Baba-I-Quom Muhammad Maqool Butt). Addressing a meeting in this regard, Malik said that as in past JKLF has chalked out various programs on the “martyrdom day” of Shuhad-I-Aalikadal.
A condolence and congregational prayers meeting will be held at Mazar-I-Shuhada Eid Gah Srinagar on Thursday 19thNovember 2015 at 10:30 A.M. in which JKLF leaders, activists and admirers of great martyrs will participate in large number. After this meeting on the same day , 19th Nov 2015 at 11:00 A.M a Blood donation camp will be held at Hamid blood bank Abi Guzar in which JKLF leaders, activists, students and people from other walks of life will donate their blood for the welfare of humanity. This blood camp is organized by Hamid blood bank every year. While addressing the meeting Yasin Malik said that we are remembering those martyrs who laid down their lives for the betterment of our future. While strongly condemning the oppression unleashed at Bandipora day before in which even women folk was tortured and brutally assaulted by army and police, Yasin Malik said that this reign of terror is being unleashed by those who propagate so called battle of ideas. He said that these callous rulers have provided their police and army such immunity that they have now started torturing even women folk. While strongly condemning the brutal police behavior against those who were protesting against this oppression, Yasin sahib said that rulers should bear in mind that according to the law of nature they will have to answer for these crimes and oppressive behaviors.
While paying rich tributes to Marhoom Sofi Ghulam Muhammad of Srinagar times, Yasin Malik said that he was one of the great writers, a prolific journalist and a humble human being whose departure created a vacuum that is yet to be filled. Yasin sahib while praying for his heavenly abode said that Sofi sahib has established an institution in the name of Srinagar times and we hope that his successors will make every effort for safeguarding this institution and will keep striving for its progress and development.
Meanwhile a JKLF delegation comprising of zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Sideeq shah, Ghulam Rasool Hazari, Javed Ahmad Butt and Tariq Ahmad visited the residence of recently deceased resistance leader Bilal Ahmad Kakapori. Delegation met with his bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them. (KNS)
