‘Condemns arrest of Arif Hassan of Islamabad

Srinagar, Jul 27 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Thursday condemned the arrest of Islamabad youth Atif Hassan who has been slapped with slapping PSA and shifted to Kuthwa jail.
Malik in a statement issued to KNS also condemned implicating Muhammad Ishaq Paul of Shupian in ‘a false case’.
“Putting innocent youth behind bars and inflicting harm to the people who are striving for resolution of Kashmir dispute peacefully is continuing unabated and by unleashing these kinds of oppressive policies rulers are actually setting whole valley on fire,” he said.
Terming the arrest of 31year old Atif Hassan of Islamabad, torturing him in police station and then slapping PSA on him as ‘worst kind of police terrorism’, JKLF chief said that Atif Hassan is a peaceful activist whose political ideology visa vise Kashmir dispute is clear.
“He has been striving for resolution of Kashmir issue peacefully but police and other forces have always inflicted harm to him,”Malik said, adding that from a long time Atif was working hard to earn bread and butter for his innocent family but police suddenly arrested him, tortured him and slapped PSA on him and for adding more suffering to him and his family rulers shifted him to Kuthwa jail.
Malik said that in the same manner police earlier slapped PSA on JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya) who’s first PSA was quashed by high court but police slapped another PSA on him and shifted this known peaceful political activist to Kotbalwal jail.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
JKLF chief said that criminal mindset of police and their political masters can be gauged by their ugly act done against a lifer Muhammad Ishaaq Paul who was recently declared innocent by a court and ordered to be released.
“After the court order, instead of releasing this man who was in jail from last 13 years, police rearrested him and implicated him in a murder that happened some six months back when Ishaaq was in central jail Srinagar” the statement added.
He said that implicating a person who was in jail for 13 years on false charges of a murder is another glaring example of police ‘highhandedness and anti Muslim and anti-Kashmiri policy’ adopted by RSS backed PDP rulers.
“All these atrocities and oppressive measures speak volumes about the tyrannical and oppressive attitude and approach of the rulers and their police but we want to convey to these tyrants that this world is of short period and according to the eternal law of retribution they will have to face justice and answer for these crimes one day,” he said.
