Pledges to work under one banner for quality education

Srinagar, Jun 20 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Joint Coordination Committee of Private Schools (JKJCCPS) held its first General Meeting on Wednesday in which over 90 schools from different districts of the Kashmir regions participated.
The convention was held at Hat Trick Public School Zakura during which speakers highlighted the role of Coordination Committee for brining all the schools under one umbrella to address issues they are facing.
In his key-note address, President JKJCCPS Showkat Chowdhary said the Coordination Committee was formed so that a single platform is established for all the schools in all the three regions of the State for the redressal of their grievances.
Chowdhary said schools can’t address their issues individually but a collective voice is needed so that education system in the state is reformed and government’s support is sought for the smooth functioning of the schools.
He said after the formation of the JKJCCPS, they have met education minister, finance minister, chairman of the fee fixation committee and various other authorities to address various issues.
He said they got the term of the registration of the school extended from one year to five years and further said the Coordination Committee would further seek the registration duration upto 10 years.
JKJCCPS president said they demanded 8 percent annual hike in the school fee at the backdrop of the 12 percent year on year inflation.
The JKJCCPS President said due to the continual year on year inflation the fee fixation committee should also consider school fee hike on annual basis.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The members also said that School are implementing Supreme Court guidelines regarding seating arrangements of the students in the buses.
The JKJCCPS also urged government to take on board private sector as one of the stake-holders and give a representation to it in decision making with respect to education of children.
During the meeting it was also resolved that teacher and student exchange programme would be organized besides holding inter-school competitions to improve the standard of the education in the state.
The speakers on the occasion lashed out at some groups which they said are harming education system and urged schools to be aware of their nefarious designs.
They resolved to work under one banner of JKJCCPS for the development of education system in the state and also urged these groups to join hands with them for the larger Nobel cause of providing quality education to students.
Chowdhary also assured members of the Coordination Committee that their issues will be taken up with the higher authorities at regular intervals.
He also said that the Coordination Committee would also bridge the gap between parents and the management of the schools.
On the occasion, the other speakers highlighted the aims and objectives of the Coordination Committee.
The main speakers include Prof CL Vishen , Ali Mohammad representing JKJCCPS from Baramulla, Dr. Zulfkar representing JKJCCPS from Anantnag, Prof G. N. Siddiqi and others. (KNS)
