Srinagar, Nov 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Joint Coordination Committee of Private Schools (JKJCCPS) Wednesday called on Chairman Fee Fixation Committee of Private Educational Institutes Justice (Retd.) Imtiyaz Hussain and discussed with him issues especially regulation of the fee structure.
JKJCCPS delegation was led by its president Showkat M Chowdhary who apprised the Chairman about issues of the members facing due to some of the circulars issued by the Department of Education.
JKJCCPS also urged Chairman Fee Fixation Committee schools should be exempted from furnishing balance sheet from Chartered Accountants rather they should be allowed to furnish details on their own duly signed letter heads.
They also submitted that the schools that charge fee of Rs 1000 and are exempted from Fee Fixation Committee meeting scrutiny should also be extended to those schools who charge fee upto Rs 1500.
The Coordination Committee said that the Fee Fixation Committee is meeting very rarely and thus these schools with fee upto 1500 should be exempted from meeting clearances.
JKJCCPS also apprised the Chairman of the circular vide notification no 321-CEO of 2018 issued on 29-10-2018 by the Chief Education Officer Srinagar asking the private schools not to issue results/marks certificates/discharge certificates to the students unless the school produces approval of the fee structure for the current session issues by Fee Fixation Committee

On this Chairman Fee Fixation Committee said he has not issued any orders to CEOs or the Director of the School Education for issuing such circular.
JKJCCPS urged Chairman to ask Director School Education and CEOs on modifying the circular to save students from mental trauma or they will come on streets for their right to education.
JKJCCPS also urged Chairman of the Fee Fixation Committee that schools should be given minimum of three months for the submission of the files.
JKJCCPS assured the Chairman that all its members would submit the files within three months.
JKJCCPS President also urged Chairman that the submission of the forms with the Fee Fixation Committee should also be eased and a less-cumbersome process.
He requested him that private stakeholders should be taken on board who will provide suggestions on the simplification of the forms.
He also urged Chairman that the hike in the fee structure should be allowed annually for schools instead of two years and as per the current inflation in the market. (KNS)
