Srinagar, Jul 31 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Editors Forum (JKEF) Wednesday conducted a marathon meeting at Kashmir Press Club (KPC) to discuss various issues related to the function of media in the State.

According to a spokesman, with Zahoor Hashmi, Convenor in chair, important issues dominated the proceedings of the meeting which include implementation of the new advertisement policy, problems faced by the media fraternity and the overall health of journalism in the state.

The Editor Forum also welcomed new Director Information Dr Sehrish Asghar and hoped that she will look into the problems faced by the newspapers in Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“We hope the new Director will deliver to uplift small and medium newspapers of Kashmir and implement new ad policy which is hanging fire in the department for many years,” the Forum said.

“She had won accolades in district Budgam for her innovative ways of administration. We are hopeful that she will continue with same zeal as director Information,” it added.

The meeting also reviewed the functioning of the media and various issues faced by the journalists in Kashmir. (KNS)
