Srinagar, Sep 06 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Electricity Employees Union (JKEEU) on Wednesday called for three-day protest-cum- strike from September 12 to press the government over their demands.
They also threatened to plan stronger agitation incase the government failed to fulfill their demands till Sep 14.
The employees union demanded immediate fulfillment of their demands including the regularization of services of daily workers and sanctioning of risk allowances.
The union members said that they have worked with sincerity for the department but the authorities in the department are ignoring them at all fronts as not a signle demand has been fulfilled since past several years.
They said that several assurances were made by the government so far but unfortunately nothing has been done on ground.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“We are being forced to hit the t\streets to press for our demands. “So, we have decided to go on a 72-hour strike from September 12," they said.
Union members said their demands include sanctioning of risk or hardship allowance, implementation of health insurance for employees, including daily wagers, ex gratia relief and regularisation of casual employees and daily wagers.
Other demands include removal of pay anomaly, amendments in welfare fund schemes, imparting proper training and implementation of safety measures at all levels for field staff, they said. (KNS)
