Pulwama, Feb 22 (KNS): Though the death toll in JKEDI encounter has mounted to seven on Sunday, the operation in the South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday entered its third day.
Defense spokesman, Colonel N N Joshi told KNS that the encounter between forces and militants is yet to be ended. “Heavy exchange of fire is still going on,” he said.
He said that since the gunfight was resumed on this morning, no damage was reported.
The encounter between forces and militants started on Saturday in which two army captains, trooper, two CRPF soldiers and a civilian were killed while nine troopers have been injured in the gunfight erupted on Saturday after militants attacked on CRPF convoy coming from Jammu-Srinagar.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The militants believed to be three or more in number after attacking the convoy hid in JKEDI building where almost hundred employees were present and have been evacuated safely by the forces. (KNS)
