Srinagar, Jun 27 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has strongly condemned the arresting of six youths, three each from Kakapora and Samboora areas of Pulwama district by police during night raids.
In a statement issued to KNS, a JKDFP spokesperson said that night raids have become a nuisance in the valley Kashmir in particular where the men in uniform barge into any residential houses and arrest youths, disrespect elders and women and even beat them.
The spokesperson said that such a situation will only lead to violence as the youth found no alternative to such acts of state terrorism.
The JKDFP spokesperson strongly condemned the men in uniform for arresting and harassing youth in nook and corner and said that parents are worried about their wards because Indian forces and local police have started a full-fledged war against the unarmed youth who seldom raise their voice against the atrocities and in favour of their political rights.
The spokesperson said that dozens of youths have been lodged in different police stations and efforts are on to book them in fabricated cases.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis policy, the JKDFP spokesperson said has already demolished the educational career of hundreds of Kashmiri youths and police are trying to add more and more to the long list.
Strongly condemning the atrocities at the hands of government forces, the JKDFP spokesperson appealed the High Commissioner of Human Rights Council of United Nations to implement his recommendations put forth in the recent report about Kashmir so that the ongoing human rights violations are stopped.
Meanwhile, Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Sodagar led a party delegation to Sopat, in Qazigund to exhibit solidarity with the family of Shaheed Shakoor Ahmad Dar who was martyred at Cheddar area of Kulgam by Indian occupied forces during a gunfight. The delegation was told that brother of Shaheed Shakoor Ahmad is undergoing detention since long and is suffering from a dreaded disease. The delegation expressed solidarity with the family of Shaheed Shakoor Ahmad and assured that their sacrifice will be safeguarded at any cost. (KNS)
