JKCSF urges the govt to revoke ‘STF order’ to dismiss govt employees.*

Srinagar 23 April (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has decried the J&K administration’s latest order which empowers the administration to constitute a Special Task Force to dismiss or take other punitive action against the government employees allegedly found in “anti-national” activities without holding any inquiry.

In a statement issued to Kashmir news service (KNS) , Chairman JKCSF and Former president EJAC Abdul Qayoom Wani termed the order as arbitrary, draconian and is against the interests of employees of J&K.
The JKCSF statement said, there are already service rules to deal with the erring employees of all kinds and to take action against such employees, The latest order can serve as a handy tool to the government and bureaucrats to suppress their subordinates who for unjustified excuses. By virtue of this order, employees have been again pushed to the wall of mental trauma which is likely to affect the efficient work culture in the government and private sector offices.

Employees are the basic units of state administrative machinery that make the whole system operate when every part works efficiently. If any one part is malfunctioning, there is an inbuilt service rule mechanism to mend it. However, it is quite illogical to through it out arbitrarily.

Dismissing an employee or taking punitive action against him without holding any inquiry is against the principles of justice and basic rights. An employee is first a citizen and has all the human and constitutional rights. JKCSF urges the govt to reconsider its decision and to pull back its unjustified order to lower the anger and discontentment among the ranks of employees.(KNS)
