JKCSF urges administration to make situation of airports, road terminals public to ensure public satisfaction

Srinagar May 03 (KNS): With the alarming surge in figures of fatality of the second wave of COVID-19 and weighing the circumstances of the near future, the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has insisted for public updating of situations at entry terminals of air and land traffic in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued to Kashmir news service (KNS), JKCSF Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani vowed that COVID 19 won’t be kept at bay with interior lockdown if the main entry points are not held in scientific control.

These entry points include Srinagar/ Jammu airports and the main junctions of Srinagar Jammu Highway wherefrom the people in thousand comprising labourers, employees and tourists from every state of India travel into Kashmir. Wani said there are often disturbing images and videos of rush on social media that cause depression seeing the violation and over control of SOPs.

"Inside Lockdowns won't be sufficient to break the chains of infection if the SOPs are not strictly imposed on the two main airports Jammu and Srinagar and the major road terminals " the statement reads.

JKCSF has urged the administration to make the figures and scenes of airports and road terminals public on a daily basis that will pave a way for SOP introspection and will relieve common man from anxiety of disturbances.(KNS)
