Srinagar August 17 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum Tuesday convened a meeting with Grand Mufti of Kashmir Mufti Nasir Ul Islam and discussed the issues of social evils, drugs and alcoholism and waywardness at length.
In a statement issued by Chairman Forum Abdul Qayoom Wani the Forum said the issues were discussed at length and the remedial measures to curb the menace was discussed with Mufti Azam Jammu Kashmir Mufti Nasir Ul Islam
The statement said that in the meeting the current precarious situation of increase in the use of intoxicants and drugs besides the rise in social evils in Jammu and Kashmir in general and Kashmir in particular was discussed.
The statement said that the meeting unanimously passed a resolution in which it was decided that JKCSF would conduct joint seminars with religious scholars, intellectuals, lawyers and representatives of students to eradicate drug-addiction and other social evils.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
It said that the forum would work at the grass root level to eradicate social evils and pledged that top religious heads will be taken on board for guidance to reach the goal of social reforms.
Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani urged upon Grand Mufti to help coordinate with other top religious heads of JK and guide civil society in streamlining the social reforms.
General secretary Nusrat Beigh ,Tariq Ahmad senior leader JKCSF, and Distt president srinagar Muzzafar Ahmad baig were also present in the meeting.(KNS)
